Jupiter is well named after the King of the Gods in Greek mythology, it is the largest planet in both mass and size, and possesses the greatest number of moons. Current estimates of Jupiter’s collection is 79 identified moons with well known orbits (only 53 are named.) But studies suggest that Jupiter collects new satellites regularly, harvesting them from the asteroid belt, devours some (they fall into the giant planet or collide with one of the major moons), and loses others through gravitational interaction with Saturn and the Sun.

You'll go over the moon learning more from Dr. Barth about Jupiter's incredible eco system of moons on this episode of  'How Do You KNOW?'
